Lomilomi massage in Hawaiʻi

Draft. This page needs review by a Native Hawaiian lomilomi practitioner before launch.

Lomilomi is a traditional Hawaiian massage. “Lomi” means to rub, press, or knead.

It grew from Hawaiian healing traditions and is still taught from teacher to student. Styles differ from one family and teacher to the next, so two lomilomi sessions can feel very different.

Many practitioners use long, flowing strokes with the forearms. Ask your therapist where and from whom they learned. A good practitioner is happy to tell you.

We only show a lomilomi badge when the therapist says they are trained in it, and we may ask for proof (HAR §16-84-43).
